Archaeology to Touch

Who were the people who lived in the Pinzgau long before our time?

The mountains of the Kitzbühel Alps have a long history to tell. Archaeological excavations from the area around Uttendorf showed that the area was already settled by Celts around the year 1600 BC. The finds include not only a burial field, but also amber jewellery, ceramics and pearls. Uttendorf owes its reputation to them as an important archaeological site.

As a memento of our ancestors, the reconstruction of a Celtic village was built around the turn of the millennium. Get insight into the culture and way of life of the Celts, who operate in the area mainly copper mining. Here you will find a touch of archaeology to delight your children as well.
